The City of San Antonio has a voluntary program, beyond code, to ensure high performance of even utilitarian structures. Five pre-engineered metal buildings on two campuses were air barrier envelope tested to determine if performance was equivalent to a conventional structure. After building enclosure commissioning and air barrier testing, the buildings far exceeded minimum air barrier air leakage requirements, performing nearly at ASHRAE “Tight Building” Standard level- providing significant energy savings well into the future. This course has already been approved for live delivery.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Lean how the quality control process of building enclosure commissioning produce high performance building.
  2. Understand Low Tech building can be made to perform like High Performance Buildings
  3. Understand how a performance testing expectation drives overall building quality.

CxEnergy is presented by the AABC Commissioning Group (ACG), the Energy Management Association (EMA), and the Associated Air Balance Council (AABC). Together, these Authorities in Building Performance represent over 600 member companies and 2,500 certified professionals in the testing, adjusting, and balancing, commissioning, and energy management industries.
