How HVAC, BAS have changed during COVID-19
In this proprietary research study, respondents provided information on a variety of HVAC and BAS topics, plus details about how COVID-19 has affected their work
In late 2020, Consulting-Specifying Engineer asked mechanical engineers and those involved in specifying heating, ventilation and air conditioning and building automation systems about trends, preferences and products/systems.
The HVAC Systems and BAS Report outlines several findings, such as:
- The top HVAC equipment and controls systems currently being specified by respondents are HVAC controls (74%), fans and air movement (71%), building automation systems (69%) and pumps and pumping systems (68%).
- Over the next 12 to 24 months, the top HVAC equipment, controls systems and related services respondents anticipate specifying are commissioning services (36%), indoor air quality (36%), demand-controlled ventilation (35%) and building automation systems (34%).
In addition, the study asked questions about COVID-19 and indoor air quality. Fifty-seven percent of respondents are involved in one or more projects in which clients are requesting changes to HVAC systems due to COVID-19.
